Link building for new site in 2020

Thank you guys for all the answer. I cant quote all of you. Some of you say I can start right away with high quality guest posts and some say I shouldnt... the topic seems to be controversial.

For my other pharmacy site all these social signals, cheap starter links, whatsover that I bought had 0 effect on rankings. Once I bought 1 single high quality guest post the site started to rank. So I am wondering if the "starter links" that I bought were in vain and if I can skip them this time.

Maybe anyone here who did SEO for a pharmacy site from scratch and can give some advice?

Yes, just build social signals until your website show up in top 100 for any keywords. One your website get into top 100 for any keywords, then you can start build links but go in dripfeed.

Wouldnt it look unnatural if I build social signals for 1 or 2 months and then the social signals stop? Also one seller told me he doesnt accept pharmacy sites for social signals as the accounts will get blocked. So I am wondering if social signals are the right thing to do for pharmacy.

Don't build tons of social signals in first month and stop. Few tens from various platforms is good enough for long run. Yes, pharma sites get them blocked if their profile share other content but not in all social media. You can buy accounts, and do the shares.

It doesn't matter if it is a new site, if your site is indexed you can straight away go for High-quality guest posts, being new you should be careful with keyword stuffing, you should make sure the links are relevant to your niche, creating unique content is the most important part.

Foundation/Pillow links are a myth. I say give that baby as many guest posts as you can. Ideally, aim for 20 a month for the first couple of months and then bump that to 40 or so after the 5th month.

Only use profile, comment and the rest to diversify your link profile. Otherwise, foundation links are nothing but rubbish/garbage.

New site.

Week 1.

First step press release that's a few links there. Done.

Get all social media profiles updated and go claim the branded names for them (if possible)

Next update your job on linkedin to working for X write up company profile and bio for it.

Week 2.

Post all products on Pinterest.

Week 3.

Start working on 4-6 bits of content 1200 words long (min) and set to auto post 10am once a week for the next 6 weeks. All posts to share to social media channels.

Week 4.

Review where site is and if it's been ranked at all, review where current products and categories are sitting and then start to analyse where they are compared to your competitors and what you can do on page.

Week 5 - 8.

IF you just rushed to launch and products are all imported start to work through content, do research on answering search questions and place these on the product pages. Start looking at what you can do to promote products on twitter / facebook.

Week 9+

Start a plan working on an outreach and the next round of blog posts to auto post.


IF CBA with Week 1 - 9

Start with Ads. Run some split testing to test and get the most out of traffic.

Once you have some of your pages start to rank in Google it would be safe to start to building links. If AHREFS is showing pages in the top 100 then you are good to go.

Not sure if it was mentioned or not but start off with branded and naked URL anchors when you first start building links. Profile, web 2.0's, comment and other cheap links work well for this. That way when you start using keyword anchors you anchor profile will look more natural.

As your site is new and related to Healthcare do guest post and build links only from authoritative sites.

If your site is new and recently indexed. Start with these activities
- GMB Optimization
- Social Bookmarking
- Classified Ad Posting
- Business Listing

I will suggest not to go for guest posting before a month or 45 days.
These activities are enough to give your first month and work on the quality of your content. I most importantly give your first month on Market & Competition Analysis. This is the most important part SEOs miss most of the time. Because when you start actually SEO activities like Link Building you don't get enough time to observe the quality of your competitors' website.

Well, this is my way of doing SEO. Suggestions for you may vary.
