Hello,

My client has a ecommerce clothing store. There are 10 category pages for men and 10 category pages for women.

What should be link building plan to rank those 20 category pages in competitive niche(clothing/outfits)?

I am newbie and much appreciate your help if you give me step by step (month wise) link building plan for 20 category keywords.

Thanks in advance

Everybody's approach to eCom link building will be different. Some say, nowadays that branded linkbuilding to the homepage is the best route for the first 6-12 months strategy for a client.

Inner page linking is suspicious and hard to engineer at times, as who links to collection pages with exact or partial match keywords without it being sus?

My approach = contextual linkbuilding in the same niche, and branded homepage links with surrounding text of the client's offering.

For instance, if I’m working with a bathroom fixtures retailer, I’d focus on securing branded homepage links from home renovation blogs or partner with interior design sites discussing modern bathroom trends. Additionally, I’d aim for contextual backlinks within articles on topics like 'How to Choose the Right Bathroom Vanity' or 'Top Trends in Bathroom Design,' where a natural mention of the retailer's offerings can seamlessly fit in.

Forums, Q&A sites.
Do more do follow links
To start with, focus more on the home page

Start with branded and citation links, plus supportive blog content. Then, add guest posts on fashion sites. Follow with influencer mentions and resource page links.

IMO, Social media setup needs to be done first and then go for linkbuilding,

1. Create social media profiles: Set up official pages on key platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc., where your target audience is most active.
2. Grow your follower base: Focus on creating valuable, engaging content. This will help you organically grow your followers. You can also try paid ad campaigns.
3. Engage with followers: Engaging with your audience by regularly interact with your followers by responding to comments to helps build a trust for your brand name.

Once you have built a solid follower base, start promoting your products by offering exclusive discounts or time-limited deals. Highlight these offers on both your website and social media pages to drive conversions. After customers make purchases, encourage them to leave reviews on your website and social media pages. This will help to build trust and attract more audience.

After this start a building links to your website, Focus on high-quality backlinks to your homepage and key product pages. Get links from High Traffic niche releav4n guest post sites. IF you have good budget then you can try PR and mention as well from the top tier sites like Forbes, Entrepreneur, and other niche related sites.
