Link Building for Begginers

Well i am fairly new to the world of link building. I have worked in Social Media and sales for numerous years however link building for blogs is something i have never done. I am not writing my first blog, everything is going well, i have had around 400 unique visitors the past couple of days which is brilliant. Admittedly about 4 a day are coming from google.

I have a strategy where i can syndicate my content on the forum that is the main forum my niche, it will have one or two links within the article. How many articles would you syndicate on forums?

Also i have a small budget, i am after quick as i can results as i have a few products that i am making myself to market, however obviously i don't want to do this until i get organic traffic through google. Any ideas?

As your first post I'm pretty sure you should be making an introduction to the community. Aside from that, I'm not exactly sure what you're requesting. Can you provide some more details so I can try to help you out?

Can article sydnication be bad for your website?

Where should someone who has never done link building before begin?

Also my website seems to dropped in rankings after a week any idea why?

Start reading a lot on the forum and you'll learn what you need to know. Make sure you check the date of posts. Things change fast so reading something from years ago will probably not be the same as today.

You will find many blog and forum about seo and link building. So this is not very hard to learn more about link building methods.

I'd check out Kimi's SEO blueprint (you can search for it), as well as the threads recommended by imlol.
