Link Building after Penguin 2.1

Hey guys,

So it sounds like link building has gone down the shitter... Google is pretty much saying any kind of exact match anchor text that is doo follow is going to work against you.
Almost every article/blog on Search engine watch or Moz says this.

How are you guys changing your strategy when it comes to building links?

(lets not go into the idea of "don't think about links, make the site for the user/with the user in mind and you will be fine" and "you need to make pages that will earn links").

- Co-occurrence: Let's say your the keyword that I'm optimizing is 'education resources'; I would do, "For more information and tips about college and other education resources, head over to yourwebsite.com". Because the keyword 'education resources' appears near the link, Google is smart enough to 'think' that the link must be about 'education resources'

Can you give me an example of "partial anchor links"? I am sure I know what it is, but am not familiar with that specific term.
 
The technical definition of partial anchor links is any text that contains at least one of your keyword phrases. For example if your keyword phrase is synthetic oil, these would all count as partial match anchor texts: Synthetic oil is the best motor oil; This oil is important; synthetic is the best way to go; Synthetic is better than conventional motor oil. These are technically partial match anchor texts.

I guess that you have to read more about the backlinks, what djenks said is close to the truth but still for me the backlinks are working. I was saying from start that the way of how many software here are "spamming" the backlinks will go as backfire into the targeted sites. Is normal to be like this and is so easy to verify these things. What do you think that "algorithms" of Google has to do when is seeing 10.000 backlinks issued in 24 hours to one website? Is simple and clear that the websites is using backlinks and is just auto-penalized. So make strategy, prepare diagrams (of course if your software is allowing it), make schedules for promoting your website and you'll see results. My 2 cents regarding your question
 
Looks like eBay and all major sites will be going down the shitter then, wonder how many links are linked to them with exact match. If you believe the shite from Google and Moz, you are very very naive. Stop repeating their dog shite talk for them, just as they want you to do.

Right!!!

When i search for my niche after the 2.1 update for exact keyword in top 10 three site's from Ikea are ranked.

At the end of the day, it's about building natural links, or at least what seem to be natural in Google's eyes which is all it matters. Try to DIVERSIFY your backlinks if you have to build them. (Stay away from building tons of new links over the next 30-60 days)

1. no follow links (yes you need them, I don't care what other people say)
2. no text links
3. irrelevant links (stay away from anything that has your rich keywords, keep it natural)

There are many ways to build links, but that just give you some idea pretty you will need little bit of everything, if you want more info on our recent case study against penguin 2.1 for one of my clients before and after results w/recommendations, pm me.

lovng the tips for partial anchor backlinks, and also the scheduling advice very good
 
stay focus on your partial anchors
if you use too many variation it won't help any rankings.

If all your links have the same anchor is that natural? Now, if you're microsoft.com and you've got a billion links with the word Microsoft...that's natural.... But if you're running johnnysblogs.com and all your anchors say buy viagra online, you're obviously spamming(of you were hit by negseo).

It's a matter of doing something naturally looking. It's always been like that, before and after penguin or whatever they call their updates.
 
The way people were having no diversity in their backlink profile they were always going to get hit. A range of links from a range of sources and I wouldn't say don't have any exact anchor text in your backlink profile but make sure it is a small percent.

The more successful sites in one of my niches are still using a lot of anchor text pointing to certain pages targetting high value keyword terms. But these links are drowned out in a sea of generic and raw URL backlinks. It's diversity which is the real key and will remain so into the foreseeable future.
 
I have mainly started using higher quality links and it seems to have worked well as I didn't see much movement after the 2.1 update. So quality web 2.0 posts, private blog network links and all is seeming to go well. Just keep experimenting and add as much diversification as possible.

A lot of people seems to have closed their mind to the reality for one reason or the other.

The best form of building backlinks remains, private network but the dirty old blog network with lots of footprint.

With private network, you control the outbound link, fewer links to ever hurt you,
high quality links and relevance. Unfortunately, it's not in the reach of many people.
 
After penguin updates. Building link strategy so change and methods also so unique. But still some marketers are use old method of SEO.

Latest trend going "Content Marketing" only. You can get create presentation, infographics, whitepapers and research papers also. You can get relevant and generate inbound links for your industry. Best and effect is Infographics and Presentation only. Already i done some of project will get big success and make sure indexed inbound links also higher day by day.

So, Best for "Content Marketing" for Building links. Hope this is fine with you. Let me know your questions.
