Link between Amazon Associates affiliate program and banned seller account?

So I had an amazon fba seller account that was banned back in 2014. I just recently started a website and I want to join the Amazon Associates affiliate program. Is this safe to do or do I need a stealth account? They're completely separate programs so I wouldn't think they'd care, but you know how amazon is. Does anyone have any experience with this?
