I want to send DMs to followers I don't follow.

Depends on many factors. Some include.
Age of account.

And I'm sure many more.
Aged accounts that have had alot of activity can send 100s.
New accounts, less than 10.
I have aged and active accounts sending over 300 a day within 18 hours.

How are you sending over 300 new dms per day? Even on our official brand account, anything over 50+ new dms, we get blocked/limited notifs from IG and this is done manually with phone

The safe limit is 100-150 messages per day, if your account is an old account. When sending messages, you should not send many messages at the same time as it will be considered spam, divide the number of messages evenly throughout the day to avoid being detected by the system as unusual activity.

Clearly your accounts have low trust scores. Over 300 is an average.
We warn the accounts for a month and start with 15 dms and build this up. No generic messages all messages are generated by AI and follow the conversation flow.
On phones with high quality accounts getting over 100 should be easy unless your reaching out with generic messages all day
How much do you recommend splitting messages?

It depends on which account, but from all the accounts we usually send from, we have a limit of 5-6 per hour for 10 hours and it's fine. This applies to messages sent to people with whom you've never had a conversation before. However, if you want to send messages to people you've already chatted with, there is no limit. I send around 800-1000 messages daily to people I've already talked to..Can anyone tell me what the limit is for manually sending IG DMs, if I want to send messages every day?

if you send dms constantly without time delay gap then 10 to 15.
otherwise 40 to 50 in day only if you are lucky.

you cant send more than 20 dms daily. otherwise accounts get banned for sure.

What do you think dictates 'trust scores' then? And can you share some sample 1st messages you'd send?

There is not a specific number for all accounts. Is depend if you dm the followers you already have or random peoples. Age of the account and activity also play a role . Aged accounts that did some actions/dms before will have higher limits .
EDIT: I forgot to write is also depend if you try to send external link to unknown peoples in dms ig will usually flag this activity fast

you can send 20 to 30 dms daily.
if your account is fresh and didnt warmed up and you do daily dms your accounts will get banned.
