Can you still like gate on facebook?

I've read that they banned it but I've found conflicting info on if it's come into effect yet.

Just another way for them to get money from ads, sigh

    thanks guys

There's a website called iViral.pw that lts you like gate content using like, Google +1, and Tweet button.

I've had a lot of success with Twitter and Google+1. Not as much with facebook.

I think it's because Twitter doesn't require you to use your real name. And Google +1 is easy. You just click it and you're done. It's not a share.

That might be why I don't get as much facebook shares.

    • You must not incentivize people to use social plugins or to like a Page. This includes offering rewards, or gating apps or app content based on whether or not a person has liked a Page. It remains acceptable to incentivize people to login to your app, checkin at a place or enter a promotion on your app's Page. To ensure quality connections and help businesses reach the people who matter to them, we want people to like Pages because they want to connect and hear from the business, not because of artificial incentives. We believe this update will benefit people and advertisers alike.

Yep, I can confirm as well that you're no longer allowed to do this. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

This is just a way for FB to keep user engagement high and keep the advertisers happy. I mean, it's just business. That's all.
