Hey guy, I’m 22 years old. I own my car (2007 Nissan) and I live on the outskirt of Chicago’s suburbs (currently living with my mom) I also have a medium sized saving account above 10,000 and I’m currently unemployed (unless you count working with my uncle a few times a month.) I have a 740 in credit with a fico of 780 I’m enrolled in school to achieve a degree in stationary engineering. The following week I need to prepare for the EPA 608 license this will allow me to begin entry level positions or jobs “associating with my degree”. The next two days a building automation job recruiter is speaking to my class. My professor told the class he is looking to hire graduates students from my particular class that are ready to join the workforce.
The problem I'm facing is between two people. My best friend I know since I was 11 or my girlfriend I met a year and half ago. My best friend is currently in school too and has been saving up to move out. He wants to split the down payment on a property in 2026 after he graduates. Then live in the property until we are able to rent it out. Eventually parting ways with our investment journeys. However my girlfriend left to Florida on an internship with Disney in February. She is 21 and has already established living by herself ever since high school so she broke her lease before she left. She is coming back home in July. She expects me to commit to living with her once she comes back. This means I need to land a job and find a place, and hope my friends doesn't get pissed. If you do the math she comes back very soon. We both want to move into together and live downtown. We will rent for a year or so to save a grand each a month then begin looking for properties. I’m happy with the idea of leaving my bsf since 11 to start growing wealth with my girlfriend. Can anyone give different perspectives on my situation please?

You are an unemployed, try to make your first money online, then the money will lead you to the places you desire.

If Your GF is making good money, you can move together now itself, or you could wait until you make money on your own, so you share the expenses.
