Hi all and good Saturday!

I wanted to make a post about something terrible I´ve done... I recently received a gift of $1.5k from my grandfather. Just a random everyday gift.
I immediately lost $1k that weekend on sports BETTING and I feel terrible.
This was last week. I still feel terrible, so I have actually closed my betting account for 6 months, so I can not bet.

Else, yeah, financially I COULD afford to loose them, but it still hurt that I mistreated that money.
Just a little post to get things off my mind.

While betting you can't be sorry about the money, because today you lose and tomorrow you win, it's up to you :)

It sucks but the good thing is that you got it out of yourself and sometimes that shit helps.

I know that for 99% of others this thread won't make any sense but I know what you talking about.
Been there and I know cause I'm the same, not sure if this is the "rule" for all people with high emotions, I am a very emotional person and when shit like this happens, I was always down for at least a few days.

Keep your head up... Everything is going to be ok.

Friendly advice from someone who was betting for a long period of time:

Simply just stop it!

All the best.

Gambling is the worst of all bad habits. Good thing you froze your account.

Stop betting. Very few come out on top. Instead invest your money in building online money makers.

no worries
you will get it back
This is the main problem: Once the money are gone ( and 95% of the cases they will, because that's the betting/casino system ), they are gone. You will never recover them, and trying to bet again just with the "recovery" in mind will make you loooooose more and more. Better stop it before it will become an addiction ( and, yes, there is a serious problem with that ). Idk if it's working or not, but there is a site ( maybe one of them ) who try to "cure" this addiction: https://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/ ( I kindly ask mods to remove the link if there is any problem ).

So, the gift from your grandfather is gone ( ok, over 75% of it ). I think investing some time with your grandfather will make you feel better ( ask him to tell you memories from when he was young, how it was in that period of time, etc - He will like this ). If you know you have a good relation with him, tell what you did ( if you know that you will do more harm, don't tell him ).

Just my 0.2c

If your grandfather is wealthy and that $1.5k was instead of a weekend out clubbing then hey, live and learn.

If he isn't wealthy and had to make sacrifices to save that money, then hopefully the realisation of what you've done has sunk in.

Replace the money and tell him you're saving it to invest in your future...

he is wealthy, but I dont really care about that, I still feel terrible about it... I made a promise to myself from tonight, im not ever going to gamle ever again! gonna start something sustainable!

My best friend which is Korean ( we all know how much Asians love to gamble ) literally gambled most of the money he got from the same of his mom's home sale. A whopping $360k in one year. He lost it all and I saw the tax statement the casino sent him so I know it was real. I feel bad because I enabled him and everytime he invited me to casino I didnt refuse, but he went overboard with slot machines and didnt want to leave even if he was $2000 down that night. It was bad, long story short he ended up in square one, he had $360k which he could have bought a good business with, but hes doing fine again, has not stepped foot in any casino ever since.

This can be very bad feeling especially if you got or borrowed it from family and loose it.
I was in same position as you, i was borrowing from family and was very addicted to gambling.
I stoped when i discovered IM , started investing in stuff and its much higher chance to get your money back or make more than loose it by gamble.

Gambling will give you only short time dopamine happines, instead of that try to cycle your money and in long term you can make profitable business and enjoy that feeling of progress !

I get it and know exactly what you mean. Don't beat yourself up, use the experience to make better decisions next time. Invest the money or pay off some bill next time around.

What did you bet $1k in? Which matches (if football)?

i bet on soccer for the most part

like PSG to win vs Monaco, they were up 2-0 at half but lost 2-3!!! it started from there

Lol, if you feel terrible than don't do it.
btw you say$1.5k is just a RANDOM EVERYDAY GIFT?
i honestly don't know your are boasting, or regretting :anyway:

p.s if you love gamble, be the house, than you will always win.

Do you see where the problem lies with that? You'd be mistaken if you think that soccer betting (or any sport for that matter) is much more different from other types of gambling.

As you could see, PSG were the clear favorites over Monaco (a modest team) because of their star-team with the likes of Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria etc. who can finish the games themselves. In that particular game, they had 2 goals cancelled and a red card - the perfect scenario to make it look like there was no rigging involved, then you have the surprising comeback and the quote for that comeback in the second half was enough to make some people a ton of $. The problem is, like with almost every match (especially when the stakes are high), things get twisted so that the betting companies profit. How do you think they stay in business? Because of rigged games, and getting the $ from us who try to bet sincerely.

I hope you will make sense of all of this and accept the truth that you can't make a legitimate business out of sincere betting, because of such factors involved. The match fixing industry is worth billions (estimated to be more favorable for organized crime than drug dealing) so unless you are involved in that type of business purely for profit - where it is a whole different game and level, you can't start with $1k or similar, then it's not worth it man.

You can't beat the system, even if you think you have the best strategy and are betting with logic, even if you understand football and follow it regularly... the industry will still beat you. It's all about the $. So instead giving it to them, let others bet and lose, while you focus on something that's more important, and since you're in this forum - Internet Marketing!

Once you've cleared this with yourself, just quit (cold turkey) and you'll be ok, but you shouldn't repeat such thing again as it's a waste of time and money, literally. Not for 6 months, but FOREVER!

Cheers!
