Its wrong they are going to jail for a few million in money laundering, but big banks are doing it in the tens of billions of dollars and nothing is being down about them.

They didn't do anything wrong, its just they wanted people to be able to transfer money all over the world without to much questions asked. They really should have setup liberty reserve in Russia, then the U.S. wouldn't have messed with them.

LR (LibertyReserve) was underground "bank" and made tons of illegal/legal payments and purchases as it is down now. I can bet Perfect Money will be the next target, because it works the same system as Liberty Reserve worked, you dont need to give any personal information using these systems thas why they call it underground currency, a lot of scammers were getting through these websites.

I dont think they were actually enganged in child porn, its just they allowed child pornographers to use their service, credit card companies were ok with child porn for a long time, but then they were pressured into not allowing themselves to be used to pay for child porn.
Being financed by could mean multiple things.

Liberty Reserve is a medium of exchange, it could be used for good purposes and for bad purposes, just like any other medium of exchange (read cash). People who closed it down have different agenda, that has nothing to do with child porn or drugs. However, its very convenient to mask that agenda behind words we all love to hate.

And your proof of this, is exactly what? If the jackboots broke into your place, took all your stuff and threw you in jail, then said in a press release you were a child pornographer or drug trafficker, would that make it so?
I strongly suspect most illegal activity is funded by the banks and governments, but don't hold your breath waiting for their assets to be seized or frozen. Anybody can go to an ATM and get a withdrawal or cash advance with their credit or debit card any day, and use the cash to finance criminal activity. Even if you were guilty, does the government then shut down all of VISA, Mastercard or the banks involved over it? The point is, the feds' real target is the independent currency they don't like. The boogey men of child porn or drugs is just there to defame LR.
