Let's try to stop the insane COPPA law

This lawyer says that there is a small possibility to stop this law. There is a link on the video description, find it, is the one that says "comment to the FTC". Let them know that his law will bankrupt all PG content from Youtube so when kids search for content all that they will find is inappropriate content. Of course the plan of those bureaucrats is to kill all independent creators and replace them with Disney and Cartoon Network or whatever which are the ones lobbying to pass this cruel law against content creators. The new measures basically will kill any channel impacted by this. Also the FTC can sue you $42,000 per video, even if Youtube decides that your channel doesnt need to be marked as "made for kids" so no one is safe. We must stop this. We only got until December 9th to flood them with comments and try to make them back off from this.

I haven't watched the video but in all honestly, should companies be allowed to track children so we can sell them targeted ads? I'm not so sure about that.

So what are you wanting to tell the FTC exactly. That you think advertisers should be able to track and sell targeted advertisements to children? And why; so that social media influencers can make more money?

COPPA is to protect childrens online privacy. Why would they go for that? I don't think they care that YouTuber's creating child target content will lose 90% of their ad revenue.

I feel terrible for everyone that is creating childrens targeted content on YouTube. Lots of people are losing their income and being put in really shitty situations. While I am happy to sign online petitions, contact FTC, spam YouTube with complaints, etc. I would suggest you should not be too optimistic about things changing and start making other plans with your YouTube businesses as I don't see how anyhting is going to change beyond the plans which have already been proposed at this point. Things are moving ahead as per YouTube's settlement with the FTC, you need to move forward also. Hope for the best, but assume that things are not going to turn out well

Looks like a scam for an industry to make money off these successful youtubers

How naive. This is obvious lobbying by cable TV stations. They are mad a person with no resources can create content that gets more watchtime than their expensive studio creations.They kill all competition off YouTube with this, using the excuse of targeted ads and appealing to the well being of children, just like how they use the excuse of terrorism to mass spy on people (collecting actual personal information unlike personalized ads), but the problem is showing appropriate ads to kids, right. The only channels that will remain profitable on YouTube on this niche will be corporations, and that's the plan. YouTube is also an hypocrite piece of shit. Remember Article 13? They made a campaign telling subs to complain about the law because it was ruling against the platform itself. Now that the ruling goes against creators putting all pressure on them and lifting it off the platform, you are told to fuck off and get a lawyer. And not only do they ruin your channel, you can get $42,000 penalties by the FTC. This is insanity. Even those that are safe from being marked as "kids content" and keep their channels, anyone under risk that the FTC thinks otherwise is simply going to leave.

You also don't seem to be addressing the fact that once all this content is removed, non-kid-friendly content will outrank it and that is what kids will watch. So enjoy your kids watching Fortnite with swearing and adult talk all over it because the kid-friendly-Fortnite content was obliterated, scared away by those rules and penalties. Apply this to any other popular videogame with 8-10 year olds which is like most of the traffic on the site, which will continue visiting the site no matter what, and will end up watching inappropriate content, and what's most ironic is that the algorithm will treat them as adults watching said content and will still be served personalized ads on inappropriate content (thus inappropriate ads). Great fucking idea.

What about channel without monetization? Are they safe?
