Let's evaluate a competitor

So, I've found a pretty good niche in Tier 3.

Main competitor stats:

DA/PA: 35/48
DR: 65
Domain Age: 2 Years
Traffic (Tier 3 countries): 500k / month
Backlinks: 59k
RD: 3630
Do-Follow Backlinks: 2300~
Backlink profile: No real high quality links, only forum profiles, forum/blog comments.
Total pages on the website: 36.

I'm planning to reverse engineer this competitor + buy some high quality backlinks. In my opinion, it shouldn't be very hard to outrank him with better content. If I'll get a decent expired domain, it should be much easier.

People with more experience, what do you think about competitors like this?
