honestly if we are talking about 10-20 years range nothing is future proof. Not even real estate. Just ask your dad if 20 years ago he would have predicted smartphone/tablet would make PC sales decline. Nobody would have predicted that 20 years ago. Nobody even predicted all trading activities would be online (stock, forex, etc.) 20 years ago back in 1993. Maybe the safest bet is to build a real product brand and as your franchise go bigger it'll stay big.
Look at mcdonalds, KFC, whatever. but then this is not just about online world. It requires much more than that.
and about real estate while it's true in long run it's safe but in some countries it might be not. Housing bubbles can happen especially in developing countries where property prices are currently booming. Even those who are really fall in love can break up 10 years later. This is just an analogy but I hope you get my point. 10-20 years is way too far, there are always lots of changes.
