Hey I am interested in this idea and have been working on various forms of mastermind groups for at least ten years now. I have several ideas but I am new here so if it sounds plausible then maybe we can give it a go.
A mastermind group is not a simple or flippant type of thing. Napoleon Hill's original format was more of a trusted inner circle of mentors and advisors. These people were already successful in their own fields and would meet to advise other members with their thoughts and opinions on the latest projects of other members. They would not be afraid to give constructive criticism if they saw something they felt would not be ultimately successful for that member's project. Members may be facing problems or difficulties getting things off of the ground or may have been successful in the past but may be facing problems or troubles currently.
This is great but many of us may not be hugely or even moderately successful at this point. Although we do need some mentoring, coaching and guidance, the bigger reason for any group meetings or projects even would be accountability. That is a HUGE factor in the success of a newbie or a long time struggling marketer. That is the psychological reason why support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous or Weight Watchers have been so powerful and effectively successful for decades. The effects of group psychology can work absolute wonders if it's done correctly.
Accountability is also the reason why traditionallly structured classroom settings are so effective. The classroom setting is all based on accountability. Anyone can learn and teach themselves almost anything under the sun by themselves especially in the Information Age. But information or the lack of it is not the problem.
Accountability is also why we can work a job consistently with the lousiest pay simply because we are accountable for showing up at work each day at a certain time. It seems like a no brainer but we show up for work consistently and perform our required duties each day like clockwork.
The principle is no different for self employed entrepreneurs working at home off of the internet. But if we are not self starters by nature or have not taught ourselves that skill then we will easily revert right back to our old ways just like a habitual substance abuser or an overeater or a person who hates exercise.
Well that's enough ranting for now but hey I'm in if anyone else is down.
