OK, got it working. Looks nice. Made $1 on it yesterday. It's a start...now to scale.

Mine is just loading on a blank page.

What about loading up the page you want to put it on WITHOUT the bar...take a screenshot with Snagit or something...then just load up a full-page-sized JPG of the screen you want it to go to.

Then, have the bar drop down on that.

Just thinking out loud. That's the only way I would know how to do it.

Or just load up the regular page but make all of the links inactive...except for the toolbar link, of course. :)
 
So here is what I was going to do, if I have time:

Put it on all my sites.
Say something like this site is best viewed with the toolbar, but show the content.
For sites I don't care about, gray out the content until they click the link.
For sites I care about, don't gray it out.
Throw a double meta refresh after the link click, and open all clicks in a new window.

So now all the traffic for all my sites will have an opportunity to convert.
 
Hmmmm. I have to think through this. I thought that the destination page was a goner because they have to be redirected to the 'download' page and then install it.

Otherwise, what's to keep them from going over and viewing the DL page but then coming back and view your content without actually doing it.

There has to be some sort of 'check' system in place, I guess.

I did something similar. I snagged a screenshot of some random warez DL site, decreased the brightness and contrast in Photoshop, and then used it as the background.

I looked for javascript code to check if the Yahoo toolbar was installed, but I couldn't find anything. I will keep looking later today, but in the meantime, I have go cut the grass and head to the driving range :)

I quickly edited the infobar script to do something similar:

Infobar1 grays out the page, but yields once the close button is clicked.
2 grays out the page, and then displays an alert when the close button is clicked.
Both have the product info stored in variables to make it easier to customize.

You could copy this idea this would mean you could then send users off to real or other fake site so they was in fact some real content and also you dont have to create a new landing page for each post.

This would mean your posts on these warez sites might last longer as you where at least giving your users some thing to look at or download.

This is great, theoretically you could even link to your PPI-packaged-warez on the site along with the info bar, and double your profits.

What does that do? All I see here is an actual page. No drop-down or anything.
 
Change "fake-warez-sucks" in the url to something else. I guess they're using PHP and htaccess to dynamically insert the data and then rewrite the url to make it look like a html file.
 
OK, I see what that does. I'm missing something then. Where does this prompt someone to download a toolbar?
 
That specific site doesn't, JD was just giving an example of what could be done very easily with dynamic urls.
 
Has anyone tried mass ewhoring with this method? Just tell all the horny blokes that your naked pictures are located at your landing page... I'm sure this would work auto responder style or social site bots eg faceparty or myspace. Just create a sexy profile and let the software do the rest.
 
I've thought about it. Here's another one for you...no charge.

Sign up to a couple of other "money-making forums"...I'm sure you know which ones I mean.

Then put in your signature..."I'm a newbie and I make $10,000 per month using THIS method..."

Then link to your toolbar page...lol. Candy from a baby.
 
Until a mod clicks your link. Don't lose your ability/(right?) to sell pap to the desperados on DP this way ; D
 
No man. You just create like 10 accounts under different names and e-mail addresses. They are for the sole purpose of getting 10 posts, creating a signature, posting a bunch of lame responses, and getting deleted.

Mask your IP.
 
I thought using Google firefox toolbar would earn better. However, I just found out that Google is going to shut down its referral program at the end of this month.
