Let old names expire or sell them?

I've got a few domain names from 2010 that I'm not going to be using. Do they have any value? Most of them are EMDs.

I also have like 20 sites from a private network that I'm not using anymore. No penalties, they're all still indexed, etc., I'm just not going to be using them anymore. Is there any value in that? If so, would I need to sell them with the content that is currently on them or can I pull all the content and sell just the framework and let whoever buys them add their own content?

Is it better to:

- let them expire
- try to sell them
- just pay the $20 ($10 renew + $10 private) each to renew them in case you need them again in the future

sell them! You can get a hundred to a few hundred bucks out of a finished
 
I would try to sell the ones with the content on Flippa as one bundle of few sites, if they also have some traffic or pagerank there's a better chance you'll manage to sell them (just don't be too gready with the reserve price). For the ones that are only domains, try to put them on godaddy auctions with a minimal price, if you'll manage to sell some of them it will get you a few bucks and if you don't just let them expire
 
They have like a month left before expiration. How long does a Flippa auction need?

I didn't know you could sell on GoDaddy auctions; I thought that was only for expired domains.
 
Wow, Flippa is expensive.

So if I sell through GoDaddy do they handle everything behind the scenes at the end of the auction? The domain is currently registered with them but not hosted with them. If I am offering the domain as is with all the content, how do I give it to them after the auction ends?
 
Flippa is probably your best bet to get the most for the sites if you have decent traffic and content.
 
I would renew them before they expire. Age and content is usually worth something.

If you need privacy, there several decent registrars around that offer privacy for free: e.g. InternetBS, Name.com (with coupon privacyplease), NameSilo
 
This is a very good question and something i would like the answers too as well.

I own about 100 domains (some nice EDM's) but i dont haveany real experience in selling them.If anyone wants to JV with me i would be happy to
 
shoot me some good aged domains of what you have with good names, i am building a network with aged domains and Page ranked domains, if those suite my needs we will discuss the price.
 
i wish i would have read this sooner lol, i just let about 10 domain names go because i did not want to renew
 
Flippa is expensive. You can try digitalpoint forums B&S. Or just make a giveaway here :)

Personally I let a whole bunch of them expire. The work and stress and cost of flipping wasn't worth it for me at the end to salvage the MFA type sites I had.
 
Just Try To Sell It ,

If You Have More Than 1 Domain , Flippa Is The Best Place Sell It In Bulk.

Well I put a bunch of them on GoDaddy auctions. Flippa was too expensive to try and sell domains for cheap.

A few domains from 2006, one from 1999, one from 2002, and two 3 character .orgs.

I doubt they'll sell but we'll see.
 
Sell them in Domainkaforum, You'll get money from the right buyer for sure..
 
I've got some of them on GoDaddy auctions and after almost a week they have like 3-5 views each. lol
