Lession learnt: Do not pick "tier 2" domain extensions

Around 2 months ago I purchased a .top domain because my website name and concept includes "best" (hence, .top as best).
This website despite good content and some backlink, never got indexed in 2 months.

The other day I purchased a new domain, with .com extension, cloned the website there, created a 301 redirection and nothing else. After less than one week, domain is indexed. Maybe having a .com or .net doesn't make that much of a difference, but having "strange" domain names won't do any good.

In fact, if you search for .top domain on Google, these are the search suggestions Google gives you..which says it all.

Had you checked the domain if it was not registered before by someone else? I am using .top domain and didn't faced issues yet. The domain is ~2 months old and already got all the pages indexed within a week or two. Few low competition keywords have entered the top 100 already.

It was never registered before. Might have been a coincidence as well of course. But I am having a similar issue with a .info (the only domain I have which is not .com/.net/.it currently) and it's not indexed in 2 months :)
I personally wouldn't build a moneysite on .top but hope you succeed. Let me know how it goes
 
There have been many spammers using .top for years. I would avoid it.
 
no idea, I indeed got a .top domain, in my opinion, the index is no problem, maybe rankings? No idea, but for index, you can index things if Google deems its "quality" . Indexation is like a disaster in the past 2 years, no related with domain extensions.

Yeah, even I strict with .com domains, not even .net/ .org
I used .top because it kind of makes sense if you read the entire domain. I might switch to other TLD or use an expired domain if there are difficulties in ranking.
 
Idk about .top specifically , but all these other tlds do rank and index well maybe it was a coincidence op
 
I do not think that might happen because of TOP extension.
Some time ago TOP domains were selling at really low prices on the range of domain name registrars and that might attract a lot of people which started using them for sending spam and related.
 
.top is TLD extension. I do not think that other sites with .top experience the same.
Web site content and development are the key factors of success, not domain name or extension.
