Legality of using a reddit bot

Sorry if this is not the correct part of the forum, but I have recently created a bot that can farm comment and post karma in reddit as well as upvoting whatever I want.

I am considering selling this bot or at least the associated services, would this be considered illegal, i.e. would Reddit bother going after me if they found out?

I know it might seem silly, but I can't really figure out if breaking ToS is illegal.

No. They won't do anything against you... Such giant network wouldn't even bother for any of our little bots. Don't worry, sell your bot, nothing is going to happen!
 
The ToS is not legally binding in any country that I know of. The most they can do if you break the ToS is ban your account/IP. However, if your bot does something to damage their property (i.e: destroy a server or crash their site) they can then go after you legally.

Okay, and I assume writing a bunch of comments and a couple of threads will not fall under this category. Thanks a bunch for the information.

@Kay$ It is currently just a bunch of scripts not compiled into an exe, as such I have no way of "protecting my IPR" so if I do end up selling something I'll probably just sell karma accounts or upvote/downvote services. However, if you are interested in that please let me know.
 
Basically when it comes to bots.... you will get a warning shot from them if they find out and are pissed off.
 
I think you would be pretty safe. There are tons of bots for pretty much every social network out there :)
 
There are numerous cases when sites went after coders. Maybe nowadays it doesn't happen too frequently, but it was a frequent thing a few years back. If you grow big enough and your bot is affecting the user experience (e.g. there are a lot of spam generated with your bot), they can and possibly will go after you. Facebook and Instagram is notorious about this, a few mobile apps too, i don't know about Reddit. If you want to stay somewhat on the safer side, don't put a mass account creator in the bot. That's what sites hate the most, when you create accounts in bulk.
 
So far what Ive seen from the past that all bots which dont have bulk account creators stays alive and bots with acc creators dies very soon
