I am trying to get some clarity on the legal requirements for a blog?

I hear a lot about GDRP.

Can somebody tell me exactly what pages I must have blown my blog?

I appreciate the help.

European users need to approve everything you are tracking/storing about them

I see so many websites that have no policies in place. You go to their websites and nothing can be found for privacy. These are huge websites that have nothing listed. I guess that's where some of my confusion is coming in.

Your own content should be protected from copyright infringement through use of symbols and notices of conditions of any reproduction of content. You should also research safe harbor laws to make certain you’re protected from claims of copyright infringement. From an SEO point of view this is also important because if you are caught with content that is not unique on your website, you may be subject to a Google penalty.

Basic Rules Related to Website Legal Requirements
  • Minimize the risk of user-generated content.
  • Obtain the necessary licenses for content.
  • Follow the exception of fair use.
  • Act quickly when you suspect the law has been violated.
  • Prepare yourself in case you get hacked.
  • Make sure your website has a privacy policy.

Just stick a cookie notice bar plugin on your Wordpress site, link it to the privacy policy, and say you meet all GDPR & CCPA data protection laws.

  • Privacy Policies. In general, your website should post a privacy policy if you gather any personal data from your users.
  • eCommerce Considerations.
  • Collection of Personal Information.
  • Copyrighted Content.
  • Content Attribution.
  • The Can-Spam Act.
