It may seem counterintuitive, but I enjoy working for a client and teaching them how to update their own site. Weird, right? Does anyone have any methods for this?

For my clients I put together videos and host them on my servers. I do step by step with their site and show them exactly how to update the site on a regular basis.

It shows a level of professionalism that keeps them as a client + it is, imo, the best way for them to be able to have fool proof training.

there are two ways for this, if you teach them everything your demand goes less and you make a little less money.

but if it is what makes you happy , let it be your USP and keep doing....I am sure clients will appreciate you for going out of your way!

cheers!

there are many videos and ebooks teaching step to step even dummies can understand that if they want to

"if they want to", exactly. But most of them don't want to learn a new things and do a "web stuff"; they will rather contact you again, over and over, for each simple task, including how to post new photos.

just make video tuts and upload to youtube. Direct them to your video link.
