I am currently learning Russian and would like to find some sites that have russian childrens shows (Like Sesame Street / Улица Сезам or anything) It doesn't matter if I have to download or stream them. I was hoping that someone who speaks Russian or is from there could direct me to a popular site.

Thank you!

Russian women must be the most beautiful in the world, so many look like supermodels and are so easy. It wouldn't be the reason you want to learn Russian would it? Just say privyet malishka, kak dela?

Rosseta stone video tutorials are a great way to learn another language.

Thanks for the link, but the ones that I have tried.. they do not talk, there is just songs playing in the background. Do you have names of educational children's shows?

I tried once but with english being my native language I found the words really horrible to try and pronounce.

I'm actually getting to like Ulitsa Sezam / Улица Сезам a lot (which is probably a strange thing for a person my age to say, but hey they talk slow enough I can track with it) Is there any chance I could get someone to find a good download for the entire run of the show (if it exists)? I think the show was on from around 1996 to 2000something. I would try to hunt it down myself but I so quickly get into unfamiliar territory searching russian sites it makes me feel like a complete idiot :D

If you use a BitTorrent client I can point you to a tracker website where you could download lots of Sesame Street series, registration is needed though. However it would be easier if I send you torrent files via PM or elsehow for you to download.
Just answer if you use bittorrent client and what series have you watched already :-)

Nostalgia alert for the CIS and Russia crowd.

@bhstudent - You would be surprised how close you are to the truth. I feel so limited because I only know one spoken language. Being restricted to one language means that there are ideas that I could never have because the English language does not allow for it. I search the web constantly for information about whatever project I am working on and it maddens me that there is a whole universe of information out there that I simply do not have access to. Google translate helps in some cases. It is fairly useful for well written and properly structured text, but when you are dealing with a language that does not even handle nouns and ownership in the same way as yours (Russian seems to use something along the lines of an aspect of the nouns for ownership instead of taking or giving ownership of the noun with a separate word), then you throw in some slang and misspellings, and what you are left with is a horrible kludge of meaninglessness.

I've always wanted to learn a language anyway and since I keep running into the Russians while hunting for good technical / programming information I figured I would finally try to properly communicate with them :D

Here is something I have been wondering about:

For those of you that have learned English as a second language later in life (not as a child) how long was it before English started sounding more like words you could actually understand and less like gibberish? I am just getting to the point right now where I am beginning to hear the separate words instead of a steady stream of gibberish noise.

As a side note I would be happy to help others improve their English skills, I would welcome any discussions about language in general actually. The topic has always held a great interest to me.
