Learning Resources For a Solid Foundation?

I am a beginner to Internet Marketing and before I do anything I'm trying to take the time to learn. Can anybody suggest some good learning resources out there that will help me by giving me a really good foundation? I want something that will help me to understand all of the different options that are out there. It seems like I'm learning random stuff here and there.

Mind Control Marketing, how to win friends and influence people, cashvertising, then you need to go to the Diet books section of Amazon to see examples that would stand out more directly to you than viewing Apple iPhone ads. Then go watch Lie To Me, the full series. This will begin to make sense when you actually start writing "converting" sales copy (not the "trash" some people offer to write for a fee ...). That is what I think is a solid foundation to start learning to make money from. As for a method, none are good until you learn what you customer really wants, and give it to them like no one else can.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll have to check out some of those books. I have How to Win Friends and Influence people which is a great book. I'll have to check out Lie to Me. Tim Roth is a great actor. So I'm sure it's a great series.
