Hey, I’m running ads on Meta for a blackhat niche, and every lead I collect through Meta lead forms is either a bot, fake email, or wrong number. CTR is fine, forms are simple, but the quality is zero.
What am I doing wrong? Are there ways to improve lead quality or filter bots before they hit my CRM? Any practical tips would be appreciated.

Bots usually hit easy forms. Try adding some extra fields or a small quiz question—makes it harder for automated bots to pass.

Check your targeting. If your audience is too broad, you’ll get a lot of fake clicks just filling forms for incentives.

Sometimes form submissions get spammed from VPN traffic or bot farms. Add a hidden captcha or conditional logic if possible.

Test running ads to a landing page first instead of straight to the form. People who actually click through are more likely to be real leads.

Meta lead forms aren’t perfect for sensitive niches. Consider collecting leads via an email/phone capture on your own site for better control.

Try adding verification steps like phone/email confirmation and refine your targeting to filter out fake leads before they reach your CRM.

Add custom questions and use verification tools to filter out bots.

Try switching to a landing page with a captcha or extra step—Meta lead forms are notorious for junk leads, especially in sketchy niches.

ditch the sketchy angles and tighten targeting + add a quick human check (like a custom question) so the bots bounce and only real people slip through.

We recently ran an ads in the travel niche based on lead forms and they did perform
Was surprised as I don't believe in lead forms ,but was convinced by the business owner to use that method
The issue may be the niche and not lead forms

turn off audience network, add 1-2 real questions in the form (bots hate typing), switch to landing pages instead of instant forms, and verify emails with zapier + zerobounce.
bots drop 70%+, real leads go up

You might want to add a CAPTCHA or phone number verification to your forms to filter out bots and fake leads before they hit your CRM. It should help clean things up a bit.

In my experience it’s mostly the niche + low-intent instant forms—use higher-intent landing pages, add email/phone verification, and expect junk traffic if Meta detects policy-gray offers.

Yeah I’ve seen this too, try adding hidden fields or simple quizzes in the form, also check targeting, some audiences just burn bot traffic, warming up accounts slowly helps a lot

Try to use cloudflare verification most bots will fail or some way of human verification

Make the form as complex as possible. Add many items, many clarifying questions, and an item where the person has to write something by hand to minimize the risk of bots filling out the form.

Most bot leads come from broad targeting and no friction—switch to higher-intent audiences, add custom questions, and enable CAPTCHA.

You need to find a balance between filtering the bots and not creating a too overwhelming process that can lead to real peoples close your site....... try with chaptca and see how it works if the traffis is still bots you may want to add a better target for your campaign. Try to take a step at the time and see the results then improve more your process as you check constantly the results
