website which has only one main goal: to generate leads / attract paying customers.
Such websites usually consist of 1 page (the homepage usually) and they have an opt-in form somewhere on that page... or a "book us" / "get a quote" button / section... or maybe a "call us now" button... or they have a form that you need to fill in and submit...
The point is that such websites usually have no, or very little content and they are designed to make the visitors take an action, such as: submitting a form, signing up for a newsletter, making a phone call, etc. so that the owner of the site gets a lead / paying client

The concept of generating leads is to get emails/phones from potential customers who are high interested to pay to get a certain service or product if you convince them after giving their emails.
They give you their emails/phones after giving them something usually for free or book for a meeting with you.
After giving their emails/phones it's your job to get them to buy by sending email sequences for example.
If it's B2B or a high ticket product/service you'll usually need to close the deal by doing a virtual meeting or a call.
You can generate lead for your business and you'll do the closing job or maybe generate and sell leads for other business and get paid per generated lead.
Lead = potential customer.

it kind of depends on what you want for a lead. if it is an email then it could be a simple newsletter pop up with a sign up now. if you want someone to call you the website can be a one page site with information regarding your niche like solar panels ect. basically its a simple site to focus users into doing the task you want. you are trying to turn a visitor into a lead to follow up the following days to try and convert them
