They verify your serial each time you log into your account, you wont get access to any IPs without contacting the server so even if you prevent it from calling home you have no choice.

Just buy it.

why dont you just use TOR its free not really fast but does the job perfzctly

Yea, cloakfish works very well too, its like TOR's little brother but definitely gaining popularity.

HideMyIp just pisses me off every day. I bought 3 premiere versions for different computers and I have nothing but trouble. Every thread on their site where I have wanted to ask a question says that the thread is locked. I am so frustrated I could scream. I used to complain about Tor being slow but I think I'll take that over a waste of money and constant connection problems.
Grrrrrr....
