Latest Threads Started List?

When I hang around the forum in my free time, I use the "What's New?" button every time I want to read what's popular. I've discovered it's filters and they seem interesting, however none of them is able to show only the threads opened in the last 24 hours / 7 days / last month etc.. It only shows the latest posts posted on all kinds of threads reagardless of when they were opened. So I very often open outdated threads from 2012 and older just because someone posted a thanks comment or whatever.

I think it would be great to be able to display all the last opened threads just as the last posts are being displayed in the "What's New?". This way will be able to reply promptly to newbies asking help and easily find newest information.
