So you have probably heard bout the latest Google Raters Guidelines that was "leaked" and then officially published by Google. Following are the important points that I extracted from that 160 pages guidelines. To save your time & mine, I'll just write one liners about stuff which seems new in this guideline. Take that info and modify your websites accordingly
Trustworthiness
Create About Us, FAQ's, Contact us pages
Add contact info = email addresses, phone numbers, physical address etc (http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/)
Add Information about who is responsible for the web content and web management (admin, web admin etc)
Especially for Ecommerce website =Payment policies, Item exchanges and return Policies
Previously it was = Privacy Policy, TOS, Disclaimers, Cookies Notice etc
Outside, Independent Reputation Information
Search your website using these queries and make sure only positive results (and some friendly negative results) appears. (replace "ibm.com" with your website and "ibm" with your website name)
[ibm -site:ibm.com]: A search for IBM which excludes pages on ibm.com.
["ibm.com" -site:ibm.com]: A search for ?ibm.com? which excludes pages on ibm.com
[ibm reviews -site:ibm.com] A search for reviews of IBM which excludes pages on ibm.com.
["ibm.com" reviews-site:ibm.com]: A search for reviews of ibm.com which excludes pages on ibm.com
[site.com Scam]: search for finding scam complaints
Make sure to have positive info on review websites, press releases about your website, a wikipedia page if possible or links from wikipedia, High quality guest postings from large websites = See BHW Linkbuilding Section for this part
Content Quality
Anything above 1500 words seems to be a SATISFYING AMOUNT OF CONTENT.
NO ads in first fold
NO multiple ads in content
Maintenance and Updates
keep pages fresh by showing updated date or excerpt that tells what is updated on these pages. Maybe show a notification in footer bout last website maintenance check-up date etc
Expertise, Authoritativeness, or Trustworthiness (E-A-T)
Create a PERSONA and use it on your website. Create profiles of that person on every social media site, relevant forums, Q&A site etc with same image and info. Post some content on these social media profiles etc Link that persona with your website.
Controversial Issues in Guidelines
Sneaky Redirects = You notice that you are redirected to well-known merchant websites, such as Amazon, eBay, Zappos, etc. to complete a transaction
This seems to classify the whole affiliate marketing into SNEAKY stuff but whatever float Google's "goat"
