As long as manual blog comments back links work, i wont give a single f*ck about any update from google. But i'm afraid that time will come

I think Google is slowly returning to it's previous ranking algorithm and improving it or something like that. That's at least something that I've experienced with a site that I've not touched for at least 6 months. After one of the recent major updates which everyone was complaining about, my site disappeared for quite some time and came back at the bottom of page 4. It has recently moved to the top of page 2, where it was previously at the bottom of page 1. Keep in mind no SEO, site updates, anything, whatsoever has been done for the last +6 months.

What do you make of this:

weaks to handling of anchor text. [launch codename "PC"] This month we turned off a classifier related to anchor text (the visible text appearing in links). Our experimental data suggested that other methods of anchor processing had greater success, so turning off this component made our scoring cleaner and more robust.

    Wow, and this:

Improvements to freshness. [launch codename "Abacus", project codename "Freshness"] We launched an improvement to freshness late last year that was very helpful, but it cost significant machine resources. At the time we decided to roll out the change only for news-related traffic. This month we rolled it out for all queries.

They are going to be relying more and more on the number of Google+, Tweets, Facebook Likes, etc.

Who knows maybe xrumer makes a comeback.
