Similar to a site redesign which can change tags, author etc or general architecture of site.
I found editing pages on a large scale such as swapping out template-inserted affiliate links for other ones, pages that were ranking will suddenly tank for up to 3-6 months.
Is it better to put hardcoded redirect affiliate urls that can be changed/updated without the page content ever being changed to avoid this?
Editing content especially large-scale seems to tank a site that was ranking and suddenly drop out for all major keywords for an extended period of time.
Should we avoid editing content basically?
