    Hello:

I have a US based site, and late last night, some single user/bot/ip kept hitting my homepage. I was watching on google analytics, and was seeing about 1000 pageviews per 30 minutes, for the duration of 1.5 hours. They only entered my homepage, over and over again. It is an eCommerce site that sells physical product to the tune of around 10-15k US per month, in a fairly competitive nitch. We also do not currently rank very high on the Google serp.

Any thoughts as to why someone would do this?

    Thanks

I get the same thing, stupid bots hitting the home page over and over again. No idea why. Even some search bots do it, like Baidu. All you can really do is ban the IP and move on.

Most likely a bot, and most likely someone on this forum is sorry for hitting your site repeatedly. :)

Yes seen these bots, sometimes crawling the whole site and reflecting on my stats.

Ya like agent-x said, I have no idea why anyone would do this though. Guess ill block em and move on, it was just something strange I have never seen as far as spam traffic.
