    Hey guys,

    I have an idea:

To generate SEO leads, could one run a large (in number of ads) PPC campaign targeting "SEO __city__" which are usually low in CPC ($0.10) for EVERY city in their area (or state if they wanted)...

Although there wouldn't be a ton of searches for each keyword, the total number of keywords and searches would be a lot.... and it would be easier to be in position 1 versus spending a bunch per click for 1 broader keyword.... Is that possible or is there some hidden problem that I am not aware of?

Forgive me because I know little about PPC.

    Thanks!

Broader keyword always reduces the quality score, which in turn, might lead you to pay a lot more

so you are saying targeting the keyword "seo __some very little known city___" with only 20 searches a month and a cpc of $0.10 will reduce the quality score for my site and make me end up paying $0.50 instead?

Never actually thought about this before, actually quite a smart idea OP. Probably worth experimenting with.

Firstly, see with only 20 searches per month, at a CTR of 1%, it will take you about 5 months to get your first click, and now if you want customers, it will take you years, however if you target multiple cities (let's suppose you target 100), now with such a low searches, the ctr is low then for normal keywords, and with 100 ad variations it will be a bit difficult to get a good quality score.
