Laptop suggestions?

Hey guys!

I have recently decided that I want to purchase a laptop (seeing as I only have a desktop). I need something that is capable of medium to high-level performance. In terms of looks I want something that is thin and sleek looking. I know I am basically describing a Macbook, but please don't mention any Mac's. Thank you!

ps. Nothing over $600, don't laugh :rolleyes: .

Searched Google for best performance laptop 2013 $600 and it looks like there several options for you but I can't recommend any for you as I hate all laptops.
 
Yeah, I've tried that but none are really what I am looking for or they are out of my price range. Just wanted some opinions from people here that may suggest some they actually own.

I also have a dislike for laptops, but they are extremely convenient. Can't really see myself carrying around a desktop. :rolleyes:
 
Bro...I've bought 5 different laptops in 4 years because I keep spilling my drinks on my keyboard. Straight up...but the refurbished Gateway from Walmart online. Tax and shipping $280. I have no idea how they make these look brand new. You can look forever and can't see a single scratch. I love my Gateway which used to be the most expensive desktop. $280 with tax!
 
asus k55a nothing better in that price range. Enough said!!!
 
It sounds like you want an Ultrabook. They generally have REAL 6hr+ battery life and pretty good performance. Most have a dedicated SSD or at least SSD caching. I have an ASUS UX31A for a laptop, but it has a low voltage CPU. The Samsung Ultrabooks are pretty nice. Definitely worth a look.
 
Yea I was looking at the Samsung also, but I think I've narrowed it down to the Asus brand.
 
I would buy a used/refurbished 13" Macbook Pro from eBay. There's a couple that run under $600 but personally would never buy anything used. I just bought a Macbook Pro and it's the best laptop I've ever owned. Super fast speed, looks nice, has tons of cool features, and it can't get viruses as easily as Windows.
 
Oooo. I just might also look into that too. However, I would run windows on it and if I go down that road I will look for a reputable seller that offers a good warrantee on it. So the topic is now Asus vs MacBook (in the $600 budget of course) .

It's a little harder to get software for a Mac and you can get a new Windows laptop for the price of the used Mac. On the negative side you most likely will get Windows 8 with the stupid Metro interface and the assorted craplets or as they call it in Redmond the "Career Ender".
 
Dell Latitude will be good..but its like 800+ but good and tough to go...

Check out Acer Aspire e1 571.Comes in i5 and i3 :)
