It was never a nice thing to begin with, but today on eBay I got my first "shotgun KYC" which means they wait until they have your money and then say they are holding your funds until you produce documents.
Hell fucking no.
They can keep the 60 bucks, but that's fucking rude to wait until a sale comes through then hold your money with an automated email. I haven't made a sale in 5 months until now, they could have asked my for this at ANY point before now.
Even then, I was willing to do it this time since they have my delivery address already anyway, but all the documents I uploaded they couldn't accept (I don't drive so I don't have a drivers license or passport either). I've had a big row with them on their chat help and they don't accept my documents and they're basically keeping my money, citing "by law" thinking that means they're behaving any better. I can do nothing about getting my money now. Shotgun KYC is sickening behavior.
