So I found a 3-word KW with 60k global, 30k local to US, both exact match. TT says about it that it's relatively easy to rank. My question is, which domain should i get? Is long-tail-keyword.com better than longtailkeywordv.com? long-tailkeyword.com is also available, and also makes sense with the KW. Any suggestions?
I would go with longtailkeywordv.com or long-tailkeyword.com if it makes sense like you say. But that keyword doesn't look all that easy to me, some heavy backlinks in there. Look at the guy that actually has the keyword in his title,desc,h1... It took him 2 years and 4500 backlinks to get 5th position. You may want to cross check this keyword with other software.
why do you think it'd take 6 months to reach page 1? ranked #1 is wikipedia. ranked #2 and #3 is a gov site. #5 is the longtailkeyword.net what strategy would you use to rank it on first page? the usual? post an article once a couple days, doing onpage seo and start building links like mad?
Try to avoid hyphens - they are a slightly negative quality signal. Especially if you ever want to resell the domain, a hyphen in a domain makes it immediately less valuable. And having more than one hyphen in a domain is DEFINITELY not a good idea. So - choose longtailkeywordv.com. It's always best to have your keyword appear at the beginning of the domain (as is the case here). Good luck!
i think there will be no problem in selecting hyphen domain like like-my-cat.com or likemycatv.com i think first one will be better.
I have sites with hyphens and sites without hyphens and in my experience it has not made any noticeable difference. People don't like the look of hyphens but from what i have read about the debate google sees the hyphen as a space and thats it. It's up to you which is more important. If you can, you only want the keyword in the domain name, nothing else. Personally in your case, i would go for long-tailkeyword.com
