    Hi guys!;)
My name is Koon, and I own a small gaming niche website. My domain is hosted by wordpress and since I bought the full upgrade pack from them.
    Sadly, traffic isn't that good.

Well, a little about myself first:
In my country, boys of 18 years old are conscripted into the army or police and made to serve 2 years of their time in the force. I have about 7 months to go. And luckily or unluckily, my tough days in the army are over; I get to go home everyday :) and my day to day life goes by smoothly as a desk man. In the first quarter of my time in the force, I injured my spine and was left with a permanent injury. I was quickly sent out of the combat vocation, and sent to serve the army in a service vocation. I'm now a medic, stationed in a medical center; but since there are hardly any critical cases these days, I spend most of my time relaxed in the office until 6pm.

    So...

    About the blog I have:
    1) 6 months old gaming blog.
    2) Have an ultra small fanbase of 25 followers.
    3) Nowadays, all of my posts have an average of 3 likes.
    4) Not a single cent earned.

    What I have tried:
    1) Link collider(3months ago): This one killed my site. It got me deindexed ._.
I had to work on it for a few months; I did not trust any websites, any programs or tools. Just my PR, and talking to people of the similar niche and providing legit content.
    2) Used seoQuake on my website, did all the optimization that I can.
    3) YT. Not very popular. I wouldn't count on this first, I still need to improve on my conversational skills before I start moving into youtube.
    4) Bought a fiverr gig, just 1, that promises to build PR9 backlinks for me. Well, things are already quite bad, could it get any worse?

    What I want to have:
    1) Build a steady, legit fanbase
    2) Earn enough money to keep the website, as well as for my next pizza:rolleyes: (Estimate... $300/month?)

    What I will not do:
    1) Sell out on what small fanbase I have. By that I mean I will not scam them into downloading fake key gens and e books.

I know this goes against the methods of many BHWers, because this method is not blackhat. But still... suggestions, white or blackhat, are weclomed!
If mods think that this shouldn't be here, then I apologise - remove this by all means.

    Thanks in advance!

    Koon's Journey,
    Current status: All geared up.

You can never go wrong with pizza!

What does your gaming site offer to the user? Are you doing reviews on video games?

You're missing out on potential followers and traffic if you stay out of youtube. If you're social skills suck, work on them. Collaborate with other gamer channels and blogs, get mentions from them as well. People need to know about your site before you'll get any traffic.

Don't worry you didn't go against the "rules" lol. Making fake keygens is not the only way people make money here.
I think your best bet is to monazite your site with ads, but get a decent amount of traffic and good content before you put them on.

Hey bro, good luck! Youtube is a great way to earn a fan base, even if you do not want to talk. Make a gamin compilation of some sort, and put some dubstep music in the background. Remember that your audience is the most important. Always treat them with respect, give them real and working content. Just keep on hammering away and you will be making much more than $300/month. Maybe even $300/day. :)

Good luck with this Journey, I am sure you will succeed! :)

Also I can't help but notice your name is quite well...different. It could easily be mistaken for another word.

-Kinlee: Yes, I've been trying to work on these. I record myself reading and then replay it, see how I can do better. For me, this has become a weekly homework. I'm getting better, but not there yet.
-Woozy: Haha! I guess I could try. I found a few royalty free music the other day, I could slap them together for a compilation.
-TheMoneyWizard: Hahaha, another word? What would that be?

Thanks everyone for their well wishes!

Well I kind of meant your name could be mistaken for another meaning. I won't say anymore as the word it could mean is something I am totally against, but if you still don't get what I mean then try typing your name into urban dictionary ;)

Anyway I gave you +rep as you seem to have the right attitude and I think you will succeed soon :D

Good way for long term income.

Don't do youtube only if you don't have enough time, as it's good to be active there.

    Good luck, Koon.

    Thank you everyone!

What I did this past two days:
1x youtube video - Basically I just took one of my essays and read them out, slap some pictures on it and tried to make them humorous.
    1x 1000 word essay

    Site stats:
    Original average visitors: 4/day
    Current average visitors: 5/day
    +1 Twitter follower.

Pizza funds up to date: $0

    Plans:
Another 1000 worded essay to come up this weekend.
Will try to work on my speaking skills in the mean time. My voice is too monotone. I felt that my voice is turning viewers away.

Great news: I got my site reindexed!
Been seeing a slightly busier traffic, and although I'm not earning REAL CASH, I'm getting rewards from this site. (Some "products")
And I've been in great mood recently, as two of my readers told me how much my prose had inspired them in their life, and asked me to keep doing what I'm doing. They each sent me a PM, strongly emoted and thankful. I've never been so honored my entire life.

    Pizza Funds to date: $0
Money spent: $5 on SEO. (Fiverr)
    Value of gifts: $30

    :)
