Short version: Putting site on web-host server, had some hiccups.

OP's exp: Not much. Recent/seflatugh/learn as I go:china:
Background:

• Website is a dev. website give by a friend.
• Trying to set it up with Hosting
• Just need the setup, should have no trouble doing some development (most has been done/) after but I am currently STUCK!

Server/hosting:

• Host NetworkSolutions(Terrible Service, and cannot refund)

Type of site:

• Social Network
• Medium size

Size of the task: 1HR to 1 1/2HR MAX

"500" errors.
Inability to connect with SQL

500 error, if its internal server error this could be something wrong with your .htaccess file. Do you know if the url's are being rewritten at all?
I can probably help you, I'm a PHP MYSQL developer..

I also know a thing or too about mod rewrite in apache, which is what sounds like is giving you a 500 error. I have seen plenty of those in my day.
