You are aware of how easy it can be to rank for keywords which are typos?

Now the question is, do you really want to put a misspelled keyword in your article and risk looking like an illiterate imbecile?
This would look even worse if you've invested in great content then tried to insert this misspelled keyword for SEO purposes.

An easy solution is by ranking for these keywords via Alt tags on an image.

So as an example if you have a food blog or gardening site

The correct spelling is Zucchini ( Volume: 1,000,000/mo | CPC: $0.05 | Competition: 0.03 )
But here's 3 other versions that people search for that you could use.

Zuchini
( Volume: 92,000/mo | CPC: $0.05 | Competition: 0.03 )

Zuccini

(Volume: 47,000/mo | CPC: $0.05 | Competition: 0.03 )

Zucini

( Volume: 3,700/mo | CPC: $0.05 | Competition: 0.03 )

So in the article you have an image of a Zucchini, but the alt tag might be; This is Freds award winning Zuchini

These type of keywords are ideal for branded products.

I'll use a pencil brand here, just as a very rough example

STAEDTLER

( Volume: 90,500/mo | CPC: $0.18 | Competition: 0.89 )

STEADTLER

( Volume: 8,870/mo | CPC: $0.17 | Competition: 0.86 )

So ask this company are famous for drawing supplies, a random keyword into KWFinder;
staedtler colored pencils, then misspelling it as steadtler colored pencils

These are just very basic/rough suggestions but will help people think outside the box.

Not really, for 99% of cases. Maybe you can get a little traffic from image search though.
It would be useful if you could automate en masse, sure. But one or two, i doubt it.

On the other hand, for languages other than english, it may work a bit better.

It's still a major thing and probably always will be for the non-English languages where accented letters are being used. For example in Spain, most of the keywords I'm dealing with have much more search volume for the non-accented versions which from the grammar perspective are wrong. It's just easier and faster for people to Google words that way. Also, the SERPS do change for both versions. Most of the times they are the same websites within the TOP 10, but the positions have been switched.

It's also kind of a standard procedure to use the accented letters in the content but for image file names to use the non-accented letters, as usually non-accented letters are being used in such cases.

Yes they still work, Google doesn't always auto correct searches. It's worth double checking your keywords to see if it does or not though.

I thought I'll find you maniacally supermoderatoring around. Instead, you're giving sweet guides thanks. Thinking out of the box is what we all need.

for image file names to use the non-accented letters, as usually non-accented letters are being used in such cases.
And don't forget the video and image captions!!!
As soon as your article is grammatically perfectly correct, no one in fact will judge the text in captions.
You can even make it your standard.
I often use whole non-accented sentences in captions and it looks like I wrote it in a hurry, just like you do in quick emails...

Typos rank naturally as well, without any editing. At least my main keyword picks them up itself.
