I used to copy other traders risk levels 2%, 5%, even 10%. But their confidence wasn’t mine. So I will panic early or overextend late. Then I realized that risk tolerance isn’t a formula, it’s emotional math. Knowing my limit made trading peaceful, not passive.
Now, I size positions by comfort, not comparison. When risk feels reasonable, decisions stay rational. The goal isn’t to trade like others,it’s to stay calm when pressure hits.
Peace of mind is a trading metric too.Do you size by logic or by someone else’s confidence?
