The certificate authority is done by the validation from the company. This type of SSL certificate may take 2 to 3 business day to get activated. This is the minimum requirement for e-commerce based website.
Extended validation
Extended validation has become essential when a website does online transaction from its portal. This can be a shopping website or anything that may requires end user to do online transactions.
Financial companies, banking sector and e-commerce websites use this certificate. This type of SSL certificate is issued in the browser. And it appears the GREENEST bar in the browser.
Extended validation certificate is issued in 7 to 10 days.
2. Domains or sub-domains certificates
From the above we have seen the different types of SSL we could obtain for our websites, the domain or sub-domains are another type of SSL you can opt for.
Single name certificate
Single name certificate issues for specially sub-domains. This type of SSL certificate use to secure single hostname.
If you have a domain and you want to buy single name certificate for it then www.domain.com will be secure but blog.domain.com or forums.domain.com will not be secured.
Wildcard certificate
If you have a domain name that has loads of sub-domains then this one perfectly fit your needs. So, if you have a domain, domain.com
Then shop.domain.com, blog.domain.com, users.domain.com, etc, will be secured itself.
But in case of domain of sub-domain then it will not work.
Like users.domain.com will work but you.users.domain.com it will not.
Multi domain certificate
Multidomain SSL certificates support multi domain and multi sub-domain to make then secure. It secures all the domains and sub-domain in same instance.
Multidomain SSL certificates are highly recommended for people who use multiple sub-domains and domains.
Unified communications certificate
