As some Experts hae said a website needs 3 to 4 months to change rankiings on google.

Considering your manual backlinks are good, you should blast them with automated stuff for a strong tier 2.

It depends on how good the competition is.

You don't NEED to do blackhat tactics to get on the first page, you need to beat the competition to get onto the first page. To beat the competition you can use safe but slow White-Hat tactics, or you can use risky but fast Black-Hat tactics. There is always a trade-off. No magic.

So you built 400 manual backlinks. This is meaningless without a good understanding of competition. If you are going for a long-tailed keyword like "professional seo assistants in Wyoming" then I'd be very surprised if 400 manual backlinks didn't get you to #1 forever. But if you're trying to rank for "credit score" then 400 won't get you anywhere.

We can't help you because we don't know the competition you are trying to rank for. Only you can know that.

Spend a good deal of time learning competition analysis. This will drag you through the painful process of learning all the different metrics and numbers, what they mean, how they grow, and how to get them. This is pretty much the most important part of SEO.

Once you have a solid understanding of how strong your competition is, you can accurately estimate how much effort and time it will take to beat it.

Marry james,

Mikeads66 hit the nail on the head. Your competition as well as the competitiveness of the keyword you are trying to rank for will determine how long it takes to get on the first page. If it takes 10,000 backlinks (among other things) to make it to the first page for your target keywords, you have a long way to go. On the other hand if it only takes 1,000, perhaps you are almost there. When doing keyword research use a tool like the KW difficulty tool from SEOMoz. Once you know what you are up against, then you will know how much work needs to be done as well as how close you are to your goals.

This post talks more about finding out how much competition you have for your target keywords,

Good luck,
