def a hot item at the moment. its not available in canada so might take a trip down to the us

Rooting is kind of like jailbreaking a Apple product.
There are many guides on the internet that teach you how to root. This one is the one I used. When you root your android product, you can access the full potential of the product and do a lot more to it such as custom ROMs.
