I am going to try to get into selling on eBay. I was wondering what was the best way to design your listing and make it stand out and look professional?

Thanks!

There are plenty of free auction templates that you can download and use. Or head over to fiverr and hire someone to put one together.

Honestly, though, just make sure you have concise, accurate info in your listing, and as many pictures of your items as you can. Your pictures sell the product, not the words. I am truly amazed at how few people read my listings anymore.

Thank-you!

If you are selling an item of some sort:

1. Provide the name of the item.
2. Provide the condition of the item.
3. Provide the usage of the item.
4. Provide the rarity of the item. (I used to deal with trading cards on ebay and it was a great idea to list the rarity of the cards whether they are super, ultra, secret rare)
5. I think ebay costs 5 cents to 25 cents for every picture? I don't recall, it's been a while.
6. Make a note of any damages to the particular item.
7. In the trading card business, I get quick buyers if I include a little bonus. (Ex. You will receive an extra 5 super rare holo set) The holo set can honestly be non rare cards or non useful but they would still buy it.
8. After the bidding wars are over, if you want to make yourself look professional, be the first to contact the winning bidder and let them know that when they pay their item, you will ship the item.

This is all I can think of.

You may try looking at listings that are similar to what you are selling.. find the ones that have good feedback and mimic the way they do theirs.

There are loads of free, decent, templates at use image hosting (Google 'use image hosting'). If you don't want to use uses hosting then just amend the links in the HTML they give you.

you can search the download section here, they are lot of tutorials for ebay available. From scratch to $$$.You can get everything there.while searching for some downloads i saw it.

Use templates to make it look better, other than that just do the standard descriptions try to sell your product and make the buyer want it, but if the item sucks its not worth it

I sell everything on ebay. I mean EVERYTHING. You would be surprised what people want to spend money for.

That said, all of my listings follow this simple format; a paragraph in three parts:

[GREETING]
Something simple like "Hello" or "Greetings!"
[DESCRIPTION]
"You are bidding on a xxxxxxxxxxxxx! It includes xxxxxxxxxxx! The issues with the xxxxxx is xxxxxxx [IF ANY]"
[CLOSING]
"Shipping is to xxxxxxxxx only. Returns are accepted within x days of receiving the item. Bidding starts at $x.xx only! Happy bidding/Thanks for looking!"

The above format I have used for almost all of my sales. If there are issues with the item, I make sure to accurately describe what the issue is, and more importantly, highlight the relevant text in RED so people can see.

Another thing: people are too afraid to list items at $0.99 on auction, especially when its something more valuable (laptop, phone, etc). Don't be afraid. If its a high value item that you know will sell, put that on .99 and watch the bids pile up

Stay on your feedback message tracking numbers to your customers feedback is of most importance.

Go to Fiverr. They will give you some great results. Check their feedback before selecting someone. You can get anything done on Fiverr!
