If they do not pay at all this time, then what is such the love for them even when he had mega upload they weren't paying as well as other sites were.

Well they stopped paying because they were at the top and felt no need to pay to users to upload content.
I'm pretty sure that now it will be the same, because everyone knows them and the lack of decent hosting sites is definitely to their advantage.
I myself don't see any reason for people to be that hyped about them. It seems that some people like the idea of sticking it to the government, but I don't see what's so great about that.
Still it would be interesting to see how things will unfold

Kim has already come out on top. He helped exposed how oppressive the copyright cops are and how they abused due process and jurisdictional limits in trying to topple him. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniack has publicly defended him in interviews. But Kim does need to diet, good grief.

The site seems to be up and running now after some really slow response times yesterday. KDC stated that he had over 250,000 sign ups in the first 2 hours.

250,000 is incredible. And he doesnt need Google for anything. Imagine that! He doesnt need to get his web site in the 1st position or have to worry about ranking anything.
His just making money on autopilot just because everyones heard of him. Amazing. All the publicity he got from Megaupload in the past 12 months, well he can thank the media for that!!!

I guess some contries with less importance might've been blocked to so they can handle all the traffic.
