Karma is a bitch, why would you want to do that? If you genuinely create a better site than them and are able to do better SEO, than you should rank higher naturally. Don't try to blast your competitors with shitty links; in several cases it might even make their profile stronger. Just as an example, I'm working right now on a project on developing my website as an authority so that no amount of spam backlinks will ever hurt its rankings.

Many people think that spamming alone will penalize sites - neg SEO takes time and experience same as regular SEO - Google fixed that in their recent mini updates. Also not many people will tell you exactly how you can neg SEO site as you might compete with them in given niche...
