Thanks guys, glad to see people PM'ing me/posting here and actually taking action rather than skipping from method to method.
If you get hardly any responses to your ad, change your ad copy. If you get plenty of emails but no conversions, change your email copies.

Once you perfect it, pay people to post your ads, and figure out a way to automate some of it a little e.g. with autoresponders etc.

Awesome share dread! +rep - For those guys who post, "I don't know where to start" or "I haven't made any money in IM" this is an awesome method that has a lot of potential. Like dread said, don't copy and paste his messages! Come up with your own and put your own twist on it. This method can be used on a bunch of different offers if you just twist it up.
If you can't make money with this, IM is probably not for you.
 
Ive done my first campaign, lets see if it shows on Craigslist. Had trouble posting stuff in FREE section recently.
 
I am quite unsure how to actually write those emails..Wouldn't they ask how it's my free business when it's about bidding on things on a site? Or do they get fooled by the "buy a small bid package to ensure you're in for it"?
 
Thanks lawton - and you're right, it's a great method to start out with because it doesn't necessarily require any investment. If you can't post on CL yourself, it only costs a couple of dollars to get 2-4 ads out there.

JackSparrow - I'm surprised you've had trouble posting in the free section. I've posted in a few diff sections for different campaigns and had a 100% success rate. I got 1 ad flagged after 24 hours but can't remember which one. Not had to use any PVA's either!

Try to promote it to them as a one off unknown method/business and make it clear you're only telling 1 person. If you mention that it would be a shame for no one to be using it they'll realise the apparent value.
 
Also noticed one thing. The ad message and title actually works as it is. But the mails should be unique. I've already gotten conversions on my ads (Getting mails in other words) and it's only been two hours or something. Now to write out the mails...and hope I get my acceptance into the affiliate before I get too many mails..

Even if it takes 48 hours to get accepted it just means you can have more back and forth and therefore build more of a trust as well as get them hooked. I haven't tried getting conversions by having quite a long conversation with anyone (apart from 1 who took a few emails to end up converting). You physically can't rush it without your affiliate link so you may end up with a higher conversion rate by default.

If anyone has any success it would be great to hear, as well as anything to note or anything that was changed. Even 1 single conversion story can change everything as there's probably things to add.
 
Can you show proof of your success with this method? (without getting offended...:o)
 
Found one CPA network that pays out $95 for a conversion. Just got approved for it and will start to try this in my city today.

When you're signing up for the affiliate site what are you guys putting in as your website? I don't have anything appropriate for this that I could put...
