What do you think of the Kik app? I didn't quite understand how it works. For some reason, I can’t join any communities there, and bots constantly write to me in DM

its a chat app like anything else eg telegram signal wire discord irc etc.
you can PM people by username or join groups
dunno why you cant join groups. you will get an error telling you why (generally). or are admins kicking you out? some groups are strict.
bots constantly dming you >> its just other marketers that have chat bot software, usually steering you to an adult dating offer.
ultimately what are your goals with kik.are you using it to chat with your peers. or are you using it to chat with randoms. or are you using it to spam/advertise.

Does anyone still use Kik?

Kik is mainly a messaging app where people can chat one-on-one or in groups, but many communities and bots can make it confusing. You might be restricted from communities if your account is new or flagged, and bots often message publicly visible accounts. It works best with private chats and verified connections.

You can search for public groups and join unless they're already full. Kik has a group limit (100 iirc). So, you should join active groups that are not already full. You can block DMs from unknown people to avoid spam from bots.
