Kid's niche in dropshipping

Hello,

I'm launching my fisrt shopify store in the kid's niche called "Forkids".

I would like to take advices from experts if this is a good niche to start in dropshipping and which challenges I would face in this business.

Even being a niche store, it's a niche that have a lot of categories do be explored.

So, which strategy you advice me to start making the first sales?

making sales in e-commerce is not tough if you exactly know the pathway, I would recommend you to start with influencer marketing ( preferable ad creative UGC or consumer-generated content)
while doing product research, never test something out of the box as a beginner, only test those products which are already winning for others (preferable product research tool DROPPOINT)
coming to challenges, the biggest challenge you would face is from your payment provider(Paypal or stripe) they would hold your money and make it tough to maintain your cash flow (a lot of times they even block your account with your money stuck)
so you need to be mentally prepared for this.
last tip - dropshipping is not a get rich quick scheme, but in dropshipping either you will make no money, or you will make a lot of money, there is no mid (totally from my experience )
 
Why would anyone buy from you?

If you have a solid answer to this question, go for it. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time. Dropshipping isn't what it used to be.

Good question. The answer is: I will sell products that are not easy to find at local business or at big online stores.

I will consider that, I think it could be a cheap way to reach a big audience, isn't it?

The same concept of the popular saying "not reinvent the wheel".

If I get this issue, it means that I'm already making sales. So it's a good problem.
 
Following.

curious if anyone has had success with drop shipping childrens toys and what their formula was. Is Facebook ads the way to go or something else? If it was fb ads, what method / type of ad copy did you use?
 
Kids is a very broad niche you need to be more selective to start with example : toys, kids clothing , kids bed etc
 
This will be hard because you may encounter alot of competetion in Kids niche.. if cant find a unique product to sell you can only gain small profit I guess but it sill depends how your strategies goes..

I agree with this, a former colleague of mine had been dropshipping aftershaves and other cosmetics from France, but due to european politics these days, customers are facing import taxes and customs/VAT charges.
It's almost like they've set up companies like amazon to succeed.

I think these days for any market, risk taking is back on the menu, buy discount bulk from local suppliers / importers. Or just setting up amazon affiliate sites for "affiliate dropshipping"

Kid's niche is a huge niche in the markets. There are lots of products included, such as kid's clothing, kids' shoes, kids' toys.
My suggestion is to try to find a much more segment niche, such as kid's clothing for 1-3 years old, or educational toys, etc.
BTY, according to Shopify product trends in 2022, the toy is a great niche for dropshippers. Refer to here: https://www.shopify.com/blog/trending-products
Please do the research first!
Finding a reliable https://www.nihaodropshipping.com/toys-c is also vitally important.
As for marketing, if you have budgets, place google or FB ads. If you want to free marketing, social media marketing is the best choice. Good Luck!
 
I highly suggest doing or covering lots of categories, if you can at least. If you cannot or is limited, then try doing only a few and those that you do well in
 
Kids niche in my experience was saleable but I couldn't get much on profit it..

1. Active Promotion
2. Email Marketing
3. Sales Funnel
4. Social Media Marketing

All these are what you should do for you to see the result quickly.

Dropshipping is not what it used to be, and niche stores are more suitable. But children are a big niche market that needs to be broken down a bit more.
