How do you do it?!

I have read and read, I understand the concept of filtering out good keywords (in theory) and I use Market Samurai which is really helpful but my biggest problem is finding a niche topic to begin with.

I know what the answer is but I just want to confirm, how do you come up with a topic to even filter out the KW's and find the nuggets?

Sorry for the rant!

Here is my process, please correct me if I am wrong.

Pick out a generic topic eg. Health

Then using MS do some KW research.

From those KW's I select a more targeted sub topic and repeat step above.

Then based on those KW's I analyze them and the KW's I am left with I double check them manually to make sure they are worthy of time and effort.

Is that about spot on or am I missing a step somewhere?

Cheers!!!

It is simple but any one don't know. We can find keyword from keyword tool but to find domain we need MS.

Keyword research

Set two filters first.

  1. Local search, exact match monthly searches > 1000
  2. Local search, exact match monthly searches < 3000

For searching keyword use any main keyword like health, insurance, camera...

Then download all the keywords that have .com .net or .org

Now you have a list

Competition research

Analyze top 10 results for keywords if you find any keyword with amazon, ehow or article directory result that is the winning keyword for you.

Keep in mind at least start 3 blogs then definitely you can find a success blog. Next step is to convert success blogs in to authority sites.

Thanks for taking the time to reply mate, good advice!

If you got success with this send me a PM I love to see your success.

I have found KW that I think might be good, but from what I have read this is too competitive? could you give me your opionion?

The domain Keyword.com is unavailable due to it been for sale without any indexed pages. I can get key-word.com though.

According to G KW Tool

Global Monthly Searches - 14,800
Local Monthly Searches - 12,100
AVG CPC - $1.31

Google Search

Without "" - 41,000,000
With "" - 5,820
InURL: - 1,560,000
InTitle: - 5,280,000

There are some other high paying KW and there are MANY subtopics I could create under this one main KW which have high paying KWs.

The top ranked sites #1 and #2 are about.com

Man, go for key-word. That looks like you could make some serious bucks off of it. I'd get it before someone else does.

LOL my domain just got taken even though it was available 30 min ago. There is no WhoIs for it though. Would that be because it has just been brought?

looks like it is .org for me

There are a few threads about picking niche keywords and keyword research.

I know I have written a keyword research guide and so has godzilla and another senior member.

Cheers mate, I have already read them and they are very useful. I think this thread was more out of frustration than anything.

Being frustrated and fail is a part of IM. Look at each fail as a step closer to your goal. Never give up :)

Hi I always recommend you to by exact match domain. You can find it but you need to spent time.

Second choice is adding - between words.
Third choice is- adding a word to end.

I alwas go for Exact searches 1000+ + EMD + cpc>$1 . I can sell site avarage $100. But this is my business model.

Calulate time, capital, expected profit and risk before purchasing a domain it always keep you in a high positing.
