keyword vs "keyword"

In g00gle, "keyword" ranks number 1, but keyword ranks 57. I get the quotes in the Adwords Keyword Tool, exact search, but in g00gle search, I am using the exact search term. What gives?

When checking in the keyword tool for number of searches to see if a keyword is worth going after you always want to look at exact searches. This gives you the number of people who type in the exact keyword phrase you are looking at.


When you are wanting to see where you are going to be when people search for your keyword you want to use keyword (no quotes). Using quotes is going to give you very misleading results because very few people use quotes when searching. Because of this the ranking you have when using quotes really does not matter at all.

when you include anything with quotation mark it changes it to exact match but without quotation mark by default it will consider your query as broad match type
