    I have two questions:

1.) I'm looking at some keywords and noticing they are searched 100-300 per location i.e texas, tenn, florida...etc. the CPC is much higher than im used to seeing, is it worth trying to capitalizing on those?

2.) How have "related crumb trails" to the higher paying keywords worked for you? does it work in reality vs theory?
    - let me give you an example to highlight what im thinking: people search for " weight loss and how it works" they read through an article on that then you highlight how there is a weight loss specialist in your area, they click through and end up on a page "weight loss specialist in miami" where the keywords are priced much higher than the starting page...

    thanks

are you promoting affiliate product or Adsense?

If you are promoting aff product, I think low search is okay.. as long as it has low competition.

CPC isn't usually what it shows and with that little views, I wouldn't concentrate on it. If it's just an additional keyword maybe I'd throw a Fiverr gig at it but wouldn't make a site around it.

If you're doing an adwords campaign for these keywords then no. You want a low CPC, unless you're niche is selling an extremely valuable service/product.

    Eaymon,

I would agree with the other members. If you are thinking of using these for an AdWords campaign, unless they are absolutely important to a brand, I would look for other terms.

As far as using them on your site for SEO, I would only use them if you have the pages to spare. For instance if you have already targeted all of your most ideal keywords with the pages of your site and you have a couple pages left that aren't targeting anything, you could use the terms there. That would be one of the only scenarios I would use a keyword with that low of search volume.
Here is a good post on low volume keywords,

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn

source-wave has an incredible arsenal of free knowledge to help you find better keywords. I stumbled upon them and got a 16k keyword in diet niche on first page and #1, using the knowledge from source-wave.

Also, use SEO Book Suggestion Tool that cross references the Google, Yahoo, Bing traffic...because Google Keyword Tool is funny. It might say exact local search is 16k but the SEO Book Suggestion Tool will say only 90 people a day visit which aint no where near 16k a month for the particular keyword.

They are correct, low keywords with traffic of 10 people a day is wack. You can only use this sort of traffic to prove you can get keywords on the first page of google for like local SEO business. Because offline world doesn't know about Internet Marketing...like professionals only know their profession. Marketing is not something they know about until they learn their profession and now need more clients.

300 at $5 per click is the same as 3,000 at $.50 per click.

I use this simple formula to put all the keywords on a level playing field:
    .5*.02*searches*cpc=
meaning: (50% will click your link if you rank at #1 * 2% of visitors will click your add * # of searches per month * cost per click =

This is not a good way to measure kw value, but it is a good way to measure kw1 vs kw2 vs kw3 etc...
